Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) is one of China’s busiest and most important airports, located approximately 28km (17 miles) from the centre of Guangzhou, the capital of the Guangdong Province. The name ‘Baiyun’ translates to’ ‘White Cloud’, named after the Baiyun Mountain nearby, which is a popular scenic spot in Guangzhou. The airport is recognised for its green initiatives, including eco-friendly architecture and energy-efficient operations.
