Curaçao International Airport, commonly known as Hato International Airport, is located on the island of Curaçao in the southern Caribbean Sea. It is the primary airport serving Willemstad, the capital, and the surrounding region, situated approximately 12 kilometres (7.5 miles) northwest of downtown.
Dating back to 1934, it is one of the oldest airports in the Caribbean, famously welcoming KLM’s first transatlantic flight. Today, it connects the island to North and South America, as well as Europe, and features a modern terminal and one of the longest runways in the Caribbean.
