Air Menzies International (AMI) has acquired GTO Global Logistics Inc, a Canadian logistics services provider based in Vancouver, Canada.
GTO provides airfreight, ocean less-than-container-load (LCL), domestic / cross-border road services, storage and customs brokerage at airports and ports in Canada. The company will integrate into AMI, which provides wholesale airfreight and express services to freight forwarders, packaging companies, customs brokers and courier agents.
GTO’s owner Darrell Keen, founded the business 15 years ago and visited Jonathan Clark, CEO of AMI in the Edinburgh Head Office. Darrell will become head of AMI’s Canadian operations, with all other employees also joining AMI’s operations.
As part of the deal, Menzies will acquire a customs bonded warehouse in Vancouver: the first AMI office in Canada, as the business looks to expand its presence across the country.
