Menzies Aviation appoints new Director of Sales Americas

18/03/26

Menzies Aviation, the leading service partner to the world’s airports and airlines, has appointed Mark Busalacchi as Director of Sales Americas, further enhancing the company’s commercial focus across the region as it expands its footprint and service offering.

Mark will oversee all commercial activities for the company’s ground handling, cargo, passengers with reduced mobility and aviation security services across the Americas. His appointment comes at a pivotal time for Menzies, following a year of significant investment and accelerated growth across the U.S. and wider region.

With more than four decades of experience driving strategic growth, sales performance and operational excellence in the aviation industry, Mark brings expertise spanning frontline operations and senior leadership roles with major carriers and global aviation services providers.

He joins Menzies from Moonware, where, as Vice President of Sales, he helped scale the company, advance technology‑led operational solutions and strengthen strategic partnerships across commercial aviation and advanced air mobility. Before joining Moonware, he spent nearly 13 years with Swissport USA, most recently serving as Vice President of Sales & Marketing, leading business development across Eastern United States and Canada and securing major contracts with international and domestic carriers.

Earlier in his career, Mark gained hands on experience in ground operations, aircraft handling, warehouse management and station leadership. His appointment strengthens Menzies’ strategic ambitions in the Americas, where the company continues to build scale and expand service capabilities across key markets.

In the past year, Menzies has taken significant steps to expand its U.S. presence, including the acquisition of G2 Secure Staff, doubling its footprint to 108 airports and establishing the company as the largest independent aviation services provider in the United States.  It also secured new ground handling licences at Miami International Airport and New Terminal One at John F. Kennedy International Airport, alongside becoming the first international ground handler to obtain an operator certificate in Argentina. Together, these milestones enhance operational synergies and reinforce Menzies’ commitment to building a resilient, scalable platform to support airline partners across the Americas and globally.

John Redmond, Executive Vice President Americas, said: “Mark brings an exceptional combination of operational insight, commercial acumen and long-standing industry relationships to our Americas leadership team. His depth of experience across the aviation value chain, paired with his proven ability to drive strategic growth, will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our presence and expand our services across the region.”
