TSA rewards Orlando employee
29/04/19Faye Liburd, Cabin Cleaning lead at Orlando International Airport (MCO), was recently awarded with a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Coin and Certificate of Appreciation, the first time a Menzies employee has gained this recognition in the USA.
While searching an aircraft, Faye found an assault knife hidden under a seat cushion and immediately reported the find through the correct channels and ensured the TSA attended the scene.
TSA’s Federal Security Director, Jerry Henderson, was in attendance at the ceremony, and said: “We would like to recognize Faye for a job well done by presenting a TSA Federal Security Coin and Certificate of Appreciation. Federal Security Coins are normally issued internally within the TSA, however under special circumstances such as this we award them to external parties.”
Eric Hamilton, said: “Faye is one of our longest serving cabin leads: she has been with us for 15 years, so we are proud to see her receive this acknowledgment. The airline has also awarded Faye with 2 flight tickets to say thank you for her swift and vigilant actions.”
