Two Safety Awards for Menzies Sydney

The Menzies Aviation team at Sydney Airport (SYD) won two awards for safety performance from key customers Malaysia Airlines and Cathay Pacific.

Malaysia Airlines selected Menzies Aviation’s Ground Handling team for Outstanding Safety Performance during 2017.

This is in addition to another key Safety Award for the Sydney team, who won Best Safety Management Reporting, selected from the whole Cathay Pacific global network.

Sandeep Pillay, Airport Services Manager for Cathay Pacific Sydney, said: “This award recognises excellent reporting Craig Midson (left), Malaysia Airlines Sydney Station Manager, presents the certificate to Bernie McCarthy, VP New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory and investigation, subsequent corrective and preventive actions, and a low rate of safety and security discrepancies. We appreciate and thank the entire team for their hard work.”

Bernie McCarthy, VP New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory, added: “It is an excellent achievement to win not one, but two safety awards from significant customers. Well done to the whole Sydney team and lets continue the great work into 2018.”
