Manchester Fuels team awarded Platinum Safety Excellence

United Airlines (UA) have selected Manchester’s Fuels team for a Platinum Safety Excellence Award. The honour was presented earlier this month by UA representatives including Matt Miller, VP International, Managing Director Atlantic Andrea Rakoshegyi and UK Regional Director Arvind Garcha.

The award comes as the Manchester team marks two years without an employee injury or aircraft damage. UA’s Safety Excellence Program is a key element of their Safety Management System, and emphasises safety of the team, customers and assets. Platinum status is the highest level possible to achieve.

Jo Cross, UA Regional Manager Manchester and Birmingham said: “Platinum status is an amazing recognition of the team’s ability and commitment to safety over a two-year period. The Fuels team at Manchester has been an outstanding partner, working closely with us throughout the process and providing detail that has pushed the whole excellence programme forward with our other service partners too.”

John Lukes, Ops Manager Manchester Fuels, said: “It is a great honour to to receive the United Airlines Platinum Award. Knowing that our day-to-day commitment to safety considerably exceeds customer expectations and sets standards for other service partners to follow is a fantastic reflection of the commitment from the Manchester team and every other site within our fuels business.”
