New global Risk System launches first module
The roll-out of the brand new Menzies Aviation Risk Systems (MARS) has begun with the release of a Permit to Work module, aimed primarily at our fuelling businesses.
MARS is a new portal for reporting risks and incidents, which integrates all of our current risk systems into one unified approach and represents a big change in the way the business handles risk.
Going live this week, the Permit to Work module is the first of 7, and will initially be used in our Fuels business with scope to extend it to other business areas where required. The module enables management control of contractors undertaking hazardous tasks such as working at height, in confined spaces, or with electrical isolation. The module also tracks insurance documents, training qualifications and calibration certificates.
Stuart Jones, SVP Risk, said: “This is the first step in introducing MARS for integrated risk management, and it’s an important milestone for us. The system is now live, and EMEA Fuels are leading the way in its implementation. We are also at an advanced stage of User Acceptance Testing for our Incident Reporting module at 18 locations across the network – a program which has the potential to revolutionise the way we mitigate risk.”
