New CEO announced for AMI

Jonathan Clark will take up new role in January 2018

Menzies Aviation has announced the appointment of Jonathan Clark as the CEO of its subsidiary Air Menzies International (AMI), the world’s leading, neutral air-freight and express wholesaler.

AMI wholesales air-freight capacity to freight forwarders, customs brokers and courier companies. Since its founding in 1976, it has grown from a single UK operation to establish bases around the globe. The company’s service offer is founded on the principle of neutrality, and customers trust AMI because of its commitment never to directly compete with them – and always to secure them the best deal available.

Jonathan is an industry veteran with long experience in the air cargo sector. Over the past 30 years, he has held positions with MSAS Cargo International, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, DB Schenker and most recently with Cargolux Airlines, where he has served as Africa Director since 2016. He will join AMI in January 2018.

Forsyth Black, President and Managing Director of Menzies Aviation, said: “We wanted a recognised expert in the Cargo market to lead AMI into the next stage of its development – and in Jon, I’m delighted to say that we got him. The road ahead of AMI is an exciting one; I’m sure Jon will relish the opportunity to take the business forward.”

Jonathan Clark said: “I am truly excited about the prospect of leading AMI, an organization that I have watched grow over the years. Most of all, I am looking forward to be leading a team that is quality-driven, customer oriented and have given AMI an excellent name in the market. Myself and the AMI team will concentrate on ways we can innovate and grow the business to be ready for the ever changing customer demands in this very competitive market place.”
