Menzies Macau Expands Customer Base
Jeju Air Launch New Flight in Macau
Menzies Macau has secured the contract for Jeju Air’s newly scheduled flight in Macau International Airport. With this new addition, Menzies Macau now serves up to 30 scheduled airline customers in Macau, handling over 2000 turnarounds monthly.
Established in 2005, Jeju Air is one of the largest low-cost carriers in South Korea, operating a fleet of twenty-five B737s and flying to 29 destinations throughout Asia. Their services are expected to rise further thanks to the recent endorsement deal with Korean megastar Song Joong Ki, who rose to popularity in Asia through his television show and print commercials.
Catherine Ng, Customer Success Manager, Menzies Macau Airport Services stated: “We are thrilled to have secured the Jeju Air contract, and look forward to building our customer base with them.”
New Appointment in South-East Asia
Kevin Tam has recently been appointed Key Account & Business Development Manager for South-East Asia, reporting to Stuart Key, Vice President Commercial, Oceania & South-East Asia.
Stuart stated: ”Kevin joins us with 20 year's industry experience in a wide range of managerial roles including Operations, Key Account Management as well as Business Development in both Hong Kong and China with Jardines Aviation Services. Kevin will prove vital in helping to improve our position in South-East Asia.”
Kevin will be working closely with key account customers: Singapore Airlines Group, Cathay Pacific, Thai Airways and Malaysia Airlines. He will also be responsible for exploring new opportunities to expand our services in the region.
Thriller in Manchester
The Menzies Aviation team in Manchester Airport used Halloween as the perfect opportunity to raise awareness and funds for The Christie; the largest cancer hospital in Manchester.
The team produced and choreographed a routine outside of their working hours in order to perform their interpretation of Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ in front of passengers using the bag drop zone as a stage for the performance.
Leanne Woods, Passenger Services Manager at Manchester Airport stated: “We are very proud in the team's achievement, commitment and passion for a worthy cause. I would also like to extend my gratitude to Leanne Mclaughlin, easyJet Ground Operations Manager, for supporting the ground team and allowing us to include the brand in our performance.”
The team raised over £260 from this performance. This was handed over to Christie the following day by Vicky Thompson, Passenger Services Duty Manager.
