Menzies Divisions collaborate on de-icing fluid delivery

Menzies Aviation utilises Menzies Distribution network for supply of de-icing fluid to Isle of Man

Menzies Aviation urgently required the collection and distribution of 10,000 litres of de-icing fluid from Newcastle this week, following a shortage at Isle of Man Airport. Quick thinking from the team led to a collaboration with Menzies Distribution to ensure a fast and safe delivery within 24 hours.

Once hearing of the shortage, Menzies Distribution rerouted a vehicle from Wakefield to ensure successful pickup from Newcastle. The vehicle then boarded the last ferry departing from Heysham Port to Isle of Man in the early hours of the morning.

Andy Lord, EVP EMEAI, said: “Without the support of Menzies Distribution, and their extremely fast response at very short notice, our de-icing fl uid would not have arrived at the airport for start of operations on Saturday morning and there would not have been any flights departing the island that day.

“I would like to extend my gratitude to Greg Michael, Managing Director of Menzies Distribution, and everyone involved in planning and managing the pickup and delivery of the de-icing fluid, ensuring services ran smoothly in Isle of Man.”
