Mark Beaumont begins first leg of world-record-breaking cycling attempt

Record-breaking endurance cyclist Mark Beaumont set off from Paris at 4am Sunday 2 July to begin his daring attempt to cycle around the world in 80 days.

Mark aims to cover an average of 240 miles per day as he cycles through Europe to Beijing, then on to Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, cycling east across Canada and completing the epic ride in a final “sprint” from Lisbon back to Paris.

Forsyth Black, President and Managing Director of Menzies Aviation, said: ”We were all very excited to see Mark begin the first leg of his amazing endurance cycle. As a key sponsor, Menzies Aviation are looking to provide as much support as we can throughout this ambitious journey and in particular, the three flights involved. Let’s cheer him on and ensure our time-critical logistics keep Mark on track to break the current world record of 123 days.”
