London station signs up 13 new customers over final three months of 2016

Since October, our London Gatwick station has experienced a run of significant commercial success. A total of 13 new customer contracts have been signed over a three month period, making it one of the busiest commercial exercises in our history.

Having secured these agreements, the challenge fell to our operational teams to deliver these start-ups against a very challenging schedule. A total of 340 new colleagues were recruited in order to serve the 13,000 additional turnarounds per year. By the 1st of December, all of our new customers were being handled for the first time, generating peaks throughout the day when 20-30 aircraft were being serviced at one time.

David Johnson, Gatwick's General Manager, said: “This quarter has been perhaps the busiest period of new service launches in our Gatwick station’s history. It’s been a tremendous challenge, but one our team here has risen to. We’ll continue working hard to consolidate our gains and deliver customers the excellence which our reputation is built on.”
