CCTC Week Concludes at the Velodrome

Cycling challenges at final London event to raise funds for Bikeworks

Last Saturday was the concluding event of the Cross-Cultural Team Challenge week for 11 Menzies managers from across the network.

The final event took place at London’s Olympic Velodrome, where the managers switched from being cyclists to event organisers: coordinating and judging a range of cycling challenges for 24 teams made up of Menzies Aviation, Bikeworks, family and friends. Challenges included sculpture building, a quiz, a road race, BMX riding, speed relay, and an indoor track fastest lap competition.

The event concluded with Forsyth Black, President and Managing Director of Menzies Aviation, donating the keys to a brand new support van to Jim Blakemore, the Director and Founder of Bikeworks. The vehicle will become Bikeworks’s mobile all-ability cycling unit, enabling Bikeworks to transport all-ability bicycles throughout London.

“We’re so pleased to support Bikeworks by donating this all-ability mobile unit,” said Forsyth. “It’s been a great day at the Velodrome – well done to our CCTC teams and thanks to all who attended and supported this great cause.”
