Bermuda's First Main Deck Loader Arrives in Time for the America's CupThe Menzies Aviation team in Bermuda have expanded their GSE vehicle fleet with the addition of the first main deck loader in the station’s history. This deployment now gives Bermuda the ability to import large-scale cargo by air.

Qatar Airways was the first to benefit from the main deck loader as 70 tons of telecommunications equipment was unloaded in early April.

Emirates then profited from the main deck loader as one of their B747 nose load freighters delivered Team New Zealand’s 50ft catamaran watercraft and contents for the team’s base in time for the 35th America’s Cup; sailing’s pinnacle event, hosted in Bermuda this year.

Brian McCormick, Menzies Aviation General Manager, Bermuda, said: “This loader is a game changer for Bermuda station, offering huge potential for expanding our operations. We were delighted with the successful unloading of equipment for Qatar and the catamaran for Emirates, and are excited to help other airline customers with future cargo opportunities.”
