Menzies Aviation welcomes Norwegian Air Shuttle at Gothenburg Landvetter Airport

e-Bulletin from Dirk Goovaerts - SVP Continental Europe

We are delighted to announce a new contract win to supply Ground Handling, Ticketing services and De-icing to Norwegian Air Shuttle at Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport. The first NAS flights will take place on 17th February 2011. Norwegian Air Shuttle is opening Gothenburg as a new station, where they will base one Boeing 737-800 to operate 22 weekly flights between Stockholm and Gothenburg. Norwegian expects to increase the number of flights during the coming year by adding other destinations.

Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA, commercially branded “Norwegian,” is a public low-cost airline listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. The company is the second largest airline in Scandinavia, and has a route portfolio that stretches across Europe into North Africa and the Middle East. With competitive prices and customer friendly solutions and service, the company has experienced significant growth in recent years.

This is the sixth station (ACE, AMS, ALC, MJV, PRG and GOT) within CE where Menzies (plus our JV in Spain) and Norwegian are working together. Securing Norwegian in Gothenburg is a fantastic win for the Swedish business, it strengthens ties between Menzies Aviation and one of the fastest growing European Airlines.
We wish the Gothenburg team full success with the startup!
